I have probably watched 50 different kdramas and movies since I lived in Korea a few years ago and I was late to this because of the hype.
I have to say that it has taken the top spot favorite for me. Strong females, strong principles, strong loyalty, strong bonding, strong dedication to duty, I know a lot of people like this so we related.
Maybe it's because I'm a military wife but I found myself drawn to the story. We both really enjoyed the unexpected humor and laughed a lot.
My husband is one to make jokes during serious times too so we related to the leads for that too.
Shi-Jin (Song Joong-Ki) is the captain of the special forces.
He catches a motorcycle thief with Sergeant Major Dae-Young (Jin Goo). Mo-Yeon mistakenly assumes Shi-Jin is part of thief's criminal gang.
The only problem with DOTS as a drama (in my opinion), is that once you watch DOTS (And Goblin also), it's hard to watch other normal dramas and stick with them fully because their storylines just aren't as captivating, and you realize there's a big script quality drop with the romance, scenes, and storyline.
The intensity was spot on for those action scenes and dramatic scenes were also well done.
The music was wonderful, the acting (with the 4 leads) were outstanding, the cinematography was gorgeous, the storyline was filled with very interesting ideals done in a great and wonderful way, and the romance felt just so real.
Yeah there were cheesy moments, but the relationships themself were just so undeniably real.
The finale Was way mushy but the unexpected ending had me lol again.
I just really enjoyed this for personal and creative reasons.
